Bigo Live is excited to announce the launch of our new Real-Time Translation feature, designed to enhance cross-language interactions and enrich your live streaming experience. This feature translates the broadcaster's spoken content into the viewer's preferred language, displaying translated subtitles to facilitate seamless communication.
1. Supported Languages
- For Hosts Speaking Chinese:Their speech can be translated into English, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, German, French, Portuguese, and Russian.
- For Hosts Speaking English:Their speech can be translated into Arabic, French, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, German, Malay, Thai, and Spanish.
- Future Expansion:We are committed to broadening our language support to include additional languages, ensuring even more users can benefit from this feature.
2. Host Eligibility
The real-time translation feature is available to hosts whose User ID (UID) is included in our designated whitelist.
The feature is currently available in single-host rooms, including:
- Single video rooms
- Single audio rooms
- Single rooms integrated via channels
- Single rooms engaged in cross-room connections
This ensures that a wide range of broadcasting scenarios can leverage the translation functionality.
3. Viewer Experience
When a host's live stream supports real-time translation, viewers will have the option to enable translated subtitles.
If the viewer's language differs from the host's and is among the supported translation languages, subtitles will display by default.
In cases where the viewer's language is not in the supported list, they can manually activate the translation feature to enjoy the translated content.
4. Platform Availability
The real-time translation feature will be rolled out on different platforms as follows:
- iOS Users:Available starting from version 6.28.
- Android Users:Available starting from version 6.29.
