Cricket Scorecard Maker
Create a batting and bowling summary from user-entered rows. The score ribbon updates from batter runs, extras, wickets, and legal balls; strike rates and bowling economy update with every change; and the finished innings can be copied or exported as CSV for review.

Enter legal balls, not decimal over notation. Wides and no-balls can add runs without adding a legal ball.
The innings total equals batter runs plus extras. Reconcile wickets and balls with the official record.
Keep the innings total, batting ledger, and bowling ledger consistent
Innings total
The ribbon adds all batter runs and extras. Wickets and legal balls come from their dedicated inputs because dismissal text and bowling rows may be incomplete while scoring.
Batting detail
Each batter row stores name, dismissal note, runs, balls, fours, and sixes. Strike rate is runs divided by balls times one hundred.
Bowling detail
Each bowler row stores legal balls, runs conceded, and wickets. Economy is conceded runs divided by legal overs, calculated from balls divided by six.
Extras
The single extras total helps complete the innings score, but it does not split byes, leg byes, wides, no-balls, or penalties. Add that detail in an external official scoring system when required.
Wickets
The wicket input controls the ribbon. It is not inferred from dismissal text because retired hurt, absent, not out, and other statuses require precise interpretation.
Legal balls
The innings ball input controls the displayed overs and current run rate. It should match the authoritative delivery record after adjustments.
Convert legal balls before writing overs
Use one integer for completed legal deliveries
Ninety balls equal fifteen complete overs. Ninety-one balls equal 15.1 overs, and ninety-five balls equal 15.5 overs.
Place remaining balls after the dot
Divide by six for complete overs and use the remainder after the separator. The display 15.4 means fifteen overs and four balls, not fifteen point four decimal overs.
Use decimal overs derived from balls
For arithmetic, divide legal balls by six. A total of 100 from 75 balls has a run rate of 100 divided by 12.5, which equals 8.00.
Apply the same legal-ball conversion
A bowler conceding 28 runs from 22 legal balls has bowled 3.6667 arithmetic overs, so economy is about 7.64 rather than 28 divided by 3.4.
Update the book in a repeatable order
Delivery
Record runs, extras, legality, and any wicket from the ball using the match's scoring rules.
Batter
Add batter runs and a legal ball faced when applicable. Not every extra produces the same batter-ball treatment.
Bowler
Add conceded runs, legal ball, and credited wicket when applicable. Byes and leg byes may differ from bowler conceded runs.
Reconcile
At over end, compare innings total, batter totals plus extras, wickets, balls, and bowling figures with the primary scorer.
This maker is designed for a summary rather than ball-by-ball scoring. During a formal match, use the scoring system and personnel required by the competition. Transcribe or summarize only after reconciling the official record. A quick spectator note can be useful, but it should be labeled unofficial until confirmed.
Review more than the headline strike rate
Runs and boundaries
Boundary runs cannot exceed total runs. A batter with two fours and one six has at least fourteen runs from boundaries before other scoring shots.
Balls faced
Confirm which deliveries count under the rules. Wides normally do not count as a ball faced; no-ball treatment can depend on what happened on the delivery.
Dismissal wording
Name catcher and bowler where the score format requires it, spell player names consistently, and distinguish not out, retired, absent, and did not bat.
Strike rate context
Strike rate describes runs per hundred balls. Match phase, target, wickets, role, pitch, and partnership context affect how it should be interpreted.
Partnership check
This page does not calculate partnerships or fall of wickets. If those sections are needed, reconcile them against the delivery record rather than deriving them from incomplete dismissal rows.
Team total check
Sum all batter runs and extras. If the result differs from the primary scoreboard, stop and find the delivery or extra allocation before publishing.
Separate team runs from bowler-conceded runs
Legal balls
Sum bowler legal balls and compare with innings legal balls. An incomplete current over may be shared only if a bowler was replaced under applicable rules.
Conceded runs
Byes and leg byes commonly add to the team total without being charged to the bowler. Use the authoritative score record for allocation.
Wickets
Not every team dismissal is credited to a bowler. Run outs and some other dismissals can raise team wickets without raising a bowler's wicket count.
Economy context
Economy measures runs conceded per six-ball over. It does not include wicket value, matchups, fielding support, phase, or the difficulty of specific overs.
Overs limits
The maker does not enforce individual bowler limits. Confirm format, reduced-innings limits, and competition restrictions separately.
Maiden overs
Maiden counts are not included. They require delivery or over-level allocation that the summary rows cannot infer reliably.
This maker is a worksheet, not certified match scoring software
It does not enforce laws, playing conditions, substitutions, penalty runs, revised targets, free hits, powerplays, fall of wickets, partnerships, overs limits, or every dismissal type. Use the official scorer and competition system when a record affects match administration, statistics, eligibility, rankings, or player history.
Make the handoff traceable
Use for a readable review message
The copied scorecard includes match label, innings ribbon, batting lines, and bowling lines. Mark it unofficial until reconciled.
Use for a structured local worksheet
The download places batting and bowling sections in one comma-separated file. Spreadsheet software may infer data types, so inspect names and dismissal text after opening.
Attach scorer, scorebook, and timestamp
The export does not embed provenance automatically. Add the official source and correction status in the publishing workflow.
Issue a labeled revision
If a total changes, state what was corrected and replace outdated public graphics. Do not silently edit a historical score without a revision note.
When discussing an innings live, keep the score ribbon large and explain whether figures are current, delayed, or final. Viewer messages can help spot a possible discrepancy, but they are not a substitute for the primary scorer. Resolve differences before declaring milestones or records.
Follow the total through every ledger
In the loaded example, batter runs add to 106 and extras add eight, producing 114. The wickets field reports three, and ninety legal balls display as 15.0 overs. Dividing 114 by fifteen arithmetic overs gives a current run rate of 7.60.
The bowling rows should sum to the innings legal balls when complete. Their runs conceded may differ from the team total if byes or leg byes are present. Their wickets may differ from team wickets when a dismissal is not credited to a bowler. Those differences should be explainable, not automatically forced to match.
Change any batter run value and the ribbon updates immediately. Change legal balls and both the overs display and run rate update. Change a bowler's runs or balls and that row's economy changes. The CSV and copied summary use the current visible inputs at the moment of export.
Freeze a verified record before distributing it
Confirm the total
Match batter runs plus extras to the official innings score. Resolve every difference before marking the worksheet final.
Confirm wickets and balls
Check the innings ending, not-out batters, dismissal count, and last legal delivery. A chase can finish before the scheduled quota.
Confirm bowling allocation
Reconcile legal balls, conceded runs, and credited wickets. Explain legitimate differences from the team total through extras and dismissal types.
Lock names and roles
Use consistent player spelling and clarify substitutes or replacement players under the match rules. Correct identity before statistics are shared.
Add result context
The maker covers one innings summary. Add target, chase outcome, winning margin, revised target, and match status only from the official record.
Issue the final version
Label the export final with source and time, then replace provisional public copies. Retain a correction path if the official scorer later amends data.
Cricket scorecard maker FAQ
Does the total update when batter runs change?
Yes. The innings total equals the sum of entered batter runs plus the extras field.
Why are wickets entered separately?
Dismissal text can be incomplete and not every status should count as a wicket. The dedicated field keeps the ribbon explicit.
How should overs be entered?
Enter legal balls. The page converts them to cricket over notation for display and to arithmetic overs for rates.
Why may bowling runs differ from the innings total?
Some extras, such as byes or leg byes, may not be charged to the bowler. Follow the applicable scoring rules and primary record.
Is the exported scorecard official?
No. It is a worksheet from user-entered data. Reconcile it with the designated official scorer and competition system.
